“Even before I had a daughter, I was passtionate about global women's issues, but now that she's here, I'm even more inspired...”  ~Brandy Carlisle

Fiddlers She is...

“Women belong in all places...it shouldn't be that women are the exception.”

~ Ruth Bader Ginsburg

"Old King Cole was a merry old soul and a merry old soul was he;

He called for his pipe, and he called for his bowl and he called for his fiddlers three.

Every fiddler he had a fiddle, And a very fine fiddle had he;
Oh there’s none so rare, as can compare

With King Cole and his fiddlers three."

I'd like to think us girls can compare.

I am not entirely sure when, but at some point when I would hear this poem in my head, I would hear, "Fiddlers She!" rather than, "fiddlers three."

Similarly, I don't remember what inspired me, possibly the #metoo movement, the Fair Ple movement, or simply by the sheer annoyance that the music industry is still entirely male dominated, but I thought it might make a marketable concept if I could find other chick fiddlers, to play with me to show the world that women too can be masters  of an instrument. I was delighted at the response of so many women interested in this project and I can only hope that it continues for many years to come...
